What is GO4Youth?

GREEN Olympiad for Youth (GO4Youth) was launched in 2020 on the side-lines of the GREEN Olympiad. It is also an annual MCQ-based examination designed for students enrolled in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to check the level of awareness and comprehension of the students about climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, conservation of biological diversity, management of biological resources and biodiversity, forest and wildlife conservation, and sustainable development and living.

GO4Youth is implemented by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and endorsed by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India.

What is the eligibility to participate in the examination?

Students from 18 to 30 years of age enrolled in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of India.
Kindly note, that students will have to submit a Proof of- Age at the time of issue of e- Certificates.

How can one register for GO4Youth?

What is the Syllabus / Text book?

GO4Youth aims to have an interdisciplinary approach and will cover information about the framework for Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Campus Development in HEIs (SATAT), Mission LiFE, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Net Zero, Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari, and Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan other national priority schemes. about Mission LiFE and other national priority schemes. The examination aims in engaging students in a systemic exercise through an innovative competitive process, designed to check the level of awareness and comprehension of the students about climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, conservation of biological diversity, management of biological resources and biodiversity, forest and wildlife conservation, and sustainable development and living. We aspire to support UGC which has formulated a new student-centric Curriculum and Credit incorporating a flexible choice-based credit system, multidisciplinary approach, and multiple entry and exit options to pursue their career path by choosing the subject/field of their interest.

Hence the examination is not based on any prescribed syllabus or textbooks. We encourage the participants to do extensive reading and be well versed with current affairs, facts and changes linked to the environment around them. It is desirable that students do an extensive self-study and then attempt the paper. The questions will trigger reasoning and help them develop an aptitude for adopting a pro-environment lifestyle.

If I have already appeared in the GO4Youth in the past, can I register again?

As long as you fall under the eligibility criteria, you may participate in the GO4Youth examination.

I am not an Indian citizen nor do I reside in India, am I eligible for GO4Youth?

No, you are not eligible for GO4Youth.

What is the registration fee for GO4Youth?

Registration fee for students enrolled in HEIs based in India is INR 160.

How can we make payments for GO4Youth?

Once you fill the online registration form, the page will take you to payments gateway page. You will be able to make the payments through net-banking / debit card / credit card / UPI.

Will there be a centre for examination for GO4Youth?

No, there will be no centres. Since the examination will be online, students can access the link with a stable internet connection on their own devices including laptops/desktops.

Can we change the examination date and time slot after registration for GO4Youth?

No, you cannot change the date of examination/ under any circumstances.

When will we get the user credentials for the online examination?

Final date with time slots and details will be communicated through your registered email id only after due date of registration.

How would I come to know that my payment is received and my registration is confirmed?

A receipt will be sent to your email ID for receipt of payment by our payment gateway partner. What should I do if I have forgotten my login id/password?

Please check text messages on your registered Email ID from us. During registration an email is sent to students with their login ID/password. However, if you do not remember or missed the mail, you can go through the following links: Forgot Login ID and Forgot Password.
